The SCR tester is designed to be a portable device to check the functionality of Silicone controlled
Rectifiers. The SCR is a three terminal device that works as a diode allowing current to flow in only one
direction. The current is controlled by a Gate that when energized turns the device on and allows
current to flow. Once an SCR is turned on, it will continue to conduct until the voltage across the device
changes polarity or the current stops.
